Immunolocalization of the Smad4 Protein in Postnatal Porcine Uterus
نویسندگان
چکیده
Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) regulates a series of effects on biological events, including uterine morphogenesis. SMAD4, downstream signal protein of the TGF superfamily, is an essential factor for mediating the TGF-β superfamily signaling. In the current study, our objective was to investigate the localization and expression of SMAD4 in postnatal porcine uterus using immunohistochemistry to provide experimental clues illustrating the mechanism of TGF-β superfamily signaling during the process of uterine development. Our results revealed that SMAD4 was detected among all samples examined, and widely and differentially expressed in the uterine luminal and glandular epithelium, myometrium and stroma in different age groups. Our findings strongly suggested that TGF-β superfamily signaling may be involved in postnatal uterine development in pigs.

Total and specific activities of alaninaminotransferase (Al-AT) were determined in general tissues, mitochondrial and cytosol fractions of visual, orbital, motor, limbic areas of brain cortex and hypothalamus of three-month old and one-year old rats under 10-20 days and 30 days protein deprivation and under recovery of normal food regime during the same terms. It was found out that Al-AT activi...

Objective(s) Galectin-3 (Gal-3) is a member of the B-galactoside-binding lectins which is expressed in a variety of tissues and plays a role in diverse biological events, such as embryogenesis, adhesion, cellular proliferation, and apoptosis. In this study, the presence and distribution of galectin-3 (Gal-3) in the mouse testicular tissue was investigated. Materials and Methods Eight adult N...
متن کاملImmunolocalization and expression pattern of Gpr3 in the ovary and its effect on proliferation of ovarian granulosa cells in pigs.
Gpr3, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, was known as a critical factor for the maintenance of meiotic prophase arrest in oocytes via a Gs protein-mediated pathway. The present studies were conducted to examine the ovarian immunolocalization of Gpr3, its expression pattern in different stages of fetal, postnatal and developmental pigs and its effect on proliferation of ovar...

متن کاملThe up-regulation of 14-3-3 proteins in Smad4 deficient epidermis and hair follicles at catagen.
Each postnatal hair follicle (HF) perpetually goes through three phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen. The molecular signals that orchestrate the follicular transition between phases are still largely unknown. Our previous study shows that the keratinocyte specific Smad4 knockout mice exhibit progressive alopecia due to the mutant HFs failure to undergo programmed regression. To investigate the...
